TRAFFIC SAFETY & SUPPLY
Warning Lites Inc. was founded in 1966 by Gregory James (Bud) Mauel. Back then, traffic safety was considered incidental to road construction. Contractors were using kerosene lanterns (smudge pots) to protect their work area at night and barricades were fashioned mostly from 2 x 4s and nails. Reflective sheeting for barricades was very basic and the colors were black and white strips.
...We’ve come a long way!
Today,
traffic safety is considered the top priority when it comes to road
construction. Safety-related signs and devices are now considered
standard in the industry, including barricades, drums, warning lites,
signs, cones, arrow boards, and changeable message centers. Engineer
Grade sheeting from years past has been upgraded today with High
Intensity Grade and Florescent Diamond Grade sheeting.
